Dave Proust, known as Prousty is a real character. He grew up on an egg-producing chook farm with two brothers and a sister.Growing up he was the runt of the family, even his little sister was bigger than him! He also suffered from Dyslexia, but he made up for these shortcomings by being the loudest and most outgoing.
Dave loves most sports and was cross country champion in year 11 and 12. At 48 years of age he still plays Rugby League Football with his beloved Terrigal Wamberal Sharks and is a life member of the Club. He represented NSW in touch football for many years, and is also a keen surfer.
Prousty has had a variety of jobs over the years; he is a professional fire fighter and licensed plumber and drainer. In his travels he has worked on sheep stations, a cattle station and a Tuna fishing boat. He has also been a tree lopper and a fruit picker, though his passion NOW is for making people laugh.
Married for over 27 years to one poor woman (Therese), with 6 kids and 2 grandchildren he has an endless supply of material, much to their horror!
Prousty has always loved performing. He started out by reciting Australian poetry, even with his reading difficulties he found poetry easy to read.He has an amazing talent and can bring any poem to life. 6 years ago his mate Mike entered him in the Tamworth Country Music Poetry Competition...
